The Skies Cried and The Earth Burned
Tree and Storm    Rim Fire in Stanislaus National Forest

A powerful, moving short video

with an evocative, masterful song and recording—the new

Anthem of the Climate Change movement

—should become the “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “We Are The World” of the 21st century.

An Alger-Cersley Production

The Power of Music

Singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn:
“When there’s a body of popular feeling around an issue, a song can be a focusing agent, a rallying point. That’s the power music has.”

This video dramatically demonstrates that, with striking visuals!

“The Skies Cried and The Earth Burned”

Woody Guthrie sang, “this land is your land”
From California, to the New York island
The golden valleys, and endless skyway,
BUT-now we see, such darkening days.

Into the White House, came a blustering fool
And politicos trashed, environmental rules
Now danger signs, got much more severe
But they were blind, and did not hear.

The Earth got hotter, greater storms did grow
Wild fires raged, hurricanes did blow
Now the guitar, does NOT gently weep
It just WAILS, climate crisis deep.

BRIDGE, with wailing electric guitar lines, then scat vocal

As the skies cried, and the Earth burned
So many asked, with great concern
What kind of world, will the children face
And what’ll happen, to the human race?!

End w/ repeats of last verse, then last 2 lines.
